I think the Benjamin Trail XL 1100 is a great hunting spring gun. It packs a lot of value into a nice package with nothing more to buy or exchange. The power wasn't all that was advertised, but any day you can get 24-25 foot-pounds from a breakbarrel springer is a good one.

I recently bought a Benjamin Trail NP XL1100 and it has been a royal pain. The scope that came with the gun was broken out of the box, the reticule plate rotated with every shot until the reticule was 40 degrees off vertical. Called Crosman and they sent a replacement. The trigger hardly deserves the name, absolutely awful!!!
The Benjamin NP rifle weights are all over the place. Crosman's 2010 catalog says this: Trail NP XL 1500: 9.15 lbs. Trail NP XL 1100: 8.80 lbs. Trail NP XL 725: 8.80 lbs. Trail NP Hardwood: 6.65 lbs. Trail NP All Weather: 8.00 lbs. I know their catalog has typos, and it's possible these weights are among them.

I wouldn't use .177 on crows, they are quite resilient. Try the NP Xl 1100, I have one & it is good value for the money + gives you the chance to tinker if you so feel inclined. You can get .177 barrel from Gravel for about $26.00 +Tx Or get the gun in .177 & get a .22 barrel .. same price. I'd shy away from .177 on crows though.
