Paralyze and V bomb will speed up the process because your mage can hit them while their pals are caught up in crushing prison, blood wound, mind blast, sleep etc then they will be weak enough to go pop too once they get infected. Just don't use tactics or you teammates will die a lot and I do mean a LOT.

Force field is great for any mage really so I would try to make room for it. it can save an ally (they can be healed while in the force field) or you can use it to quarantine an enemy. Unlike alot of spells like Crushing Prison and Paralyze you can generally expect the Force Field to always work, it is hard to resist.
